Chinese food and entertainment giant China’s Chengdu Western Food Group has announced that it is launching an online food and beverage retailer for Indian customers.
Chengdu, a Chinese company, said the Indian market is expected to become the fastest growing of its major markets in the next five years.
Cheangdu Western food is expected grow at more than 15% in the current year.
It has also said that it has already invested more than Rs 500 crore ($8 million) in the Indian food and drinks industry in the last five years to expand its reach.
It has also been planning to open a franchise outlet in the state of Goa by 2019.
Cheongdu Western Foods has a range of food items, including gummy bears, chips, ice cream and coffee, along with premium products like beer, wine, whisky and spirits.
It sells in grocery stores, online outlets and at the retail outlet.
It also sells at its online store.
