By Ben Golliver and Mike JonesWith Vancouver’s first restaurant chain opening a second location in the city, here are some tips on what to expect in terms of cuisine and style.
Taipei was founded in 2017 by brothers Taipei Zhang and Hong Kong-based Huang Jianfeng and the pair have opened more than 100 restaurants across the country and Asia.
Their first, Taipei Bistro, opened in Beijing in May 2017 and has since been visited by more than 40 million people.
They’re also in the midst of a three-year renovation of their flagship restaurant in Vancouver, which will soon feature a new interior.
The restaurant has been on the market for some time and now the two are selling for around $1 million.
According to the brothers, they believe the new location will be the perfect venue for the new franchise, which they believe will be a hit with both locals and visitors alike.
In addition to their Western food menu, the restaurant offers a full menu of dishes from the Asian subcontinent including a variety of salads and entrees.
In terms of style, they’re bringing back the old school, classic style with an emphasis on Thai, Thai-style noodles and more.
Tatso, the chef behind the restaurant, said that they hope the new restaurant will serve as a catalyst for the revitalisation of Vancouver’s food scene.
“The city is in the process of turning around and is getting a lot more interesting.
We believe that this is the perfect location for the brand,” he said.”
We’re trying to take the concept of a traditional Chinese restaurant and really incorporate some modern and modern concepts.
The idea of the new space will hopefully attract a lot of people.”
